My concerns before purchasing the saw was:1) Initial setup - I fear having to spend hours trying to get a new piece of equipment to work as it should when you first turn it on - cheap import machines are notorious for this. Setup was very easy and strait forward and compared to other shop fox tools crating and packaging was very acceptable (my jointer looked like it fell out the back of a truck when it arrived, packing was a joke). It took very little tuning and tinkering to get the saw working smoothly, as much as I would expect with setting up any brand new machine. I was able to setup it up myself no problem, I did use a forklift to get it inside the shop. It stood about 7-1/2' tall on the pallets so moving any other was will by awkward. 2) Power - when I started my search I decided I wouldn't settle for less than 3HP but the power is more than acceptable since I don't plan... I had some reservations about buying Grizzly's version after reading various complaints of vibration. I found that the Shop Fox W1729 bandsaw with its 2hp motor is more than adequate on power when I resawed some logs using a 1" wide - 2tpi blade. Built with heavy gauge steel and good welding from top to bottom, just as you would expect of a bandsaw this size. Once I mounted the cast iron table, the machine was planted firmly in place. 367 lbs. A mobile base is next on my list. When I first hit the switch on this beast, I was amazed at how quiet it ran.
